As a parent considering homeschooling your child using a Montessori curriculum, you most certainly want to be sure that you use the very best Montessori home school materials. Parents all across the United States are now using software provided by MECS, which is innovative software that brings a private Montessori tutor right into the home. The programs in this software exactly follow the Montessori method  and your child will be taught by a true Montessori teacher.

The MECS software is quiet, non-invasive and does not use flashing lights like other software on the market today. A multi-sensory format is used which involves animation, audio, visual displays and manipulations of various Montessori methods as well as kinesthetic body movements which are proved to be effective according to recent  studies conducted on children’s brain development.

MECS is truly the pioneer in bringing the very powerful and effective Montessori curriculum to the home computer and this is the very first company to offer this type of software. These programs are so good that many software developers are now attempting to copy the curriculum offered but so far none have succeeded.

As a homeschooling parent, you will be thrilled to know that MECS has developed software which truly reflects the teachings of Marie Montessori. Parents are being made aware of this software at Montessori conferences held all across the United States because it is being talked about a lot. The Montessori home school materials included in this software are programs that use the 3-Period Lesson to ensure that the child completely comprehends the concepts being introduced.

Distance  learning is becoming more popular and comfortable thanks to the development of technology. All you think to do to get success with online education is devoting routine hours to online degree work, class participation,  and meeting deadlines, which is transmitted through an immediate asynchronous interface.

Your potential for success with an online education depends on some of the most traditional academic and personal qualities: dedication, focus, student participation, writing, and communication. In sum, it depends on you. Even the once critical suspicions that online students are isolated and work in a vacuum have been smashed by evidence to the contrary in recent years.

The Quality of Today’s Online Education Programs

Students in online education now report the opportunities to build strong relationships between instructors and students, between participating students, and between students and professionals.

There are pluses and minuses with campus-based and online college degree programs. Ultimately it’s a matter of personal choice and educational goals.

However, it’s important to recognize that any gap in the quality between online and campus-based degree programs has closed among educational experts. A U.S. Department of Education 2009 study found “that learning at a distance is as effective as classroom instruction but no better. Blends of online and face-to-face instruction, on average, had stronger learning outcomes than did face-to-face instruction alone. “

Ahhhh, yes! To be a teacher. What a noble thing to do. I will stand up in front of my student(s) and let them hear my erudite and elaborate explanations about how the universe works, and they will hang on my every word. They will listen with every cell in their bodies, and then, almost as if by osmosis, they will suddenly know it. They will get it! They will have knowledge! Job well done I say! Job well done!

Not!

This is not the way it works my fellow friends, teachers and parents. The reality is very different. The student’s mind is a very interesting thing… and place. Inside you will find that there any number of thoughts that are distracting them from the task at hand. For example: What will I do later today? Is so-and-so going to text me? Did I just feel my phone in my pocket? Was that a vibration? C’mon phone. Vibrate! Anything, but this…

Wait! The teacher just said something important. What? I forget my pencil. Hey! My nose itches.

This happens to all of us. Yes- myself included (even though I hate to admit it). And those are just the “internal” distractions. There are also “external” distractions: dog barking, sister talking on the phone, blow dryer, car just went by, this seat is hard, sister’s voice is going up in volume (ha-ha-ha), did I just hear my my phone again. Please notice that the cell phone keeps making it way into my examples. Hmmm…

Attaining an online education degree has opened opportunities for many students, especially those who find paying for traditional full-time courses outside their reach. But as much as acquiring an online education degree has many benefits over traditional learning, many factors play a role in order to make it successful for online students. Because of the differences in the way that online education is disseminated and acquired, some amendments in approaching this mode of learning need be put in place to make it a success.

1. Choosing the right accredited online college or university – The first step is to select the right institution to provide for your online education degree. Do your homework before starting school, and make sure the school has been accredited by the appropriate accrediting agencies. Unfortunately, without that educational stamp of approval, the degree will not be worth the paper on which it is printed. In fact, “diploma mills” offer substandard, or no education with the promise of a quick (but worthless) degree.

2. Analyze cost vs. benefit – Some students enroll in a distance learning program without considering the cost. Generally, the cost per credit hour is fairly expensive. However, decide whether the education will translate into better income opportunities down the road. Only after assessing the true benefits can students appreciate the rewards of obtaining an education online degree.

Online education becoming more popular these days, the need for online educators is on the rise. More and more students are finding online teaching an excellent career option. “How do you go about getting an online teaching job?” is the discussion here.

Online Vs Campus Teaching

Online teaching is very different from the traditional teaching atmosphere. The teacher will never get a chance to meet his or her students. They are required to deliver their teaching effectively and efficiently without even getting a feel of students and their response. These online teachers are required to adhere to a set of principles while delivering an online lecture.

Educational Qualifications

Qualifying for an online teacher’s job is much similar to the regular requirements. A bachelor’s degree with teaching license is needed for high school teaching; master’s and doctoral degree with teaching license are the requirements for community and university level degree faculty requirements respectively. Adjunct online professors are also considered for online teaching requirements without considering the fact that they do not adhere to regular educational qualifications. While the degrees are one side of the preference, those with online management capabilities and prior experience in the field of online learning are better preferred for an online teaching job.
